Fallacies

So many fallacies in life

Yet.

They aren't meant in harm

Mostly

Santa Claus

Tooth Fairies

College Degrees

Marriage

Good Credit Scores

Religion

Etc.

Etc.

Etc.

They all make me laugh. In that some are so cute.

These myths beckon and call. So alluring.

I want to buy into it too.

Really.

I honestly do.

But I see the utter stupidity far too clearly

To hop on the bandwagon

To chase that carrot

Eventually

Like Santa Claus

Everyone gets to see the error of it all

Too bad for a great majority of us

it isn't until the bitter end

I like to tell people

"I'm an expert at nothing"

Which I think is absolutely, unequivocally true

So

Who's to say we aren't a figment of someone's imagination

That our universe isn't but a drop of water

In a sea of another universe

Maybe we are

I discount nothing really

But I know

That my beliefs

Are true to me

They make me happy

They make my life feel complete and worthwhile

And I can live in peace

With that

And isn't that what we are all intimately striving for in life

I've found my own way to obtain that

And it didn't cost a penny

All it takes is facing the world heart first

Love ahead of all else

Truth wide open

That's probably harder for some people than giving up all their assets combined

And maybe they should look at that more closely

Is holding on so tight really worth it?

If it isn't making you happy

If it brings no real joy and fulfillment in your life?

I've answered this for myself

All I can want/hope/ask is that each and everyone else try to answer that

For themselves

As well

And by no means an I perfect or saintly

Or better than anyone else

I never said or implied that at all

All I'm saying is

The struggle is real for all of us

And I'm happy to have found a path

That while I may waver it never has

And it always provides comfort

It always provides an oasis

Amid a world of sometimes utter chaos

And I wish that for everyone.
