Art for its own sake also

Art

Artist need to do art
They are compelled to it
Just as much as an engineer is compelled to fix things, create things, tinker with things
Just much as an entrepreneur is compelled to forge their own path and make it on this own terms (to some great extent)
As much as any mother is compelled to
Care for and absolutely adore her child
(Fathers also I'm sure; this is simply speaking from my own unique experience)
Art is a calling
And you can't turn your back to it
For to do so causes great harm
To you
To the world
It needs you
Just as
Florence Foster Jenkins
Was compelled to sing
It changes people
Art changes people
It opens their eyes
It open their hearts
In a way most of modern life can't or doesn't
But it can
And Art makes you see it
It makes you feel it
From deep within you
It makes that part come alive
And everyone can understand that
Be it child or ancient one alike
Play any truly memorable song to an old timer, And watch the magic happen
Play a song to a baby (toddler into)
And they can laugh with glee
And dance a sight Devine
Art moves
It should be cherished
It should be valued
It should be encouraged
It unites us is a way words sometimes can not (though at times it can)
Because Art can be wordless*

If we encouraged Art
That would in essence encourage everyone
To be who they are
Deep down inside
And maybe that's something
That some status quo
Can maybe not abide

Does anyone else like that song about Vincent "Starry, Starry night"?

*Even as it is saying all the words sometimes
